Nutcracker

Location: Covey Center for the Performing Arts (Provo)

Performance Dates: Wednesday, November 17th 7:30 and Thursday, November. 18th 7:30 there will be an additional outreach performance on Wednesday, November 17th at 10:00 which will only be available to invited school districts.  The outreach performance will only involve Act two with Provo Civic Ballet and Ballet 7 and 8 classes.

Tickets will be $15 per person. No discounts for children, groups, or senior citizens.

Performance Fee: $75 for all students due by November 1st 2010 to Jennie Creer-King at the studio.

Audition information:

Provo Civic Ballet, Ballet 8, Ballet 7, Ballet 6, and Ballet 5 are automatically in the production.  Rehearsals will begin in September 2010.  The dancers will be selected for their parts by artistic director and staff.

Children's Roles that will be auditioned will be as follows:

Baby Mice (must be at least 8 years old by August 1st)  Must be in Ballet 4
Buffoons (must be at least 8 years old by August 1st) Must be in Ballet 4

*this will be the first year that there will be a cut for the children's roles.  For more information please contact Jennie Creer-King directly.

Audition Dates for the Children's Roles will be Saturday September 11th.  Registration will be from 1:00-1:30 and the audition will be 1:45-3:00 at the studio.

Performance and Dress Rehearsal Schedule:

Fight Scene will be rehearsed Saturdays from 11:30-1:00 starting September 18th in Studio B.

Act 2 Buffoons will rehearse Saturdays from 9-10:30 starting September 18th in studio B.

Rehearsal Information:

Rehearsals for all the Children's Rolls in the Nutcracker will be held on Saturdays Starting September 18th at Classical Ballet Academy Studio. Much of the Choreography will be changed from last year so it is not necessary to watch the DVD's and memorize last years choreography. Jennie Creer-King/Artistic Director and Rachael Dailey Ballet Mistress will be conducting the rehearsals.

Rehearsal Attire:

Students must wear a leotard (any color) pink tights and pink ballet shoes women, and black shorts, white t-shirt, and black ballet shoes men. Warm up that are tight and snug fitting are allowed in rehearsal.
